Lil’ Cucaracha the famously unkown 1:32 car

We have Kevin’s “Lil Cucaracha” on display in the members gallery but trying to get some info on this car (as opposed to the 1:24) version has been difficult.

Given that these cars were incredibly popular, I’m surprised there is so little on the 1:32.

Here is bits and pieces that I found:

And this Classic Slotcar Gallery, I think it’s in Germany.

I also found later (repo?) versions in kit form at “Electric Dreams” in the US.

Registering at Slotmaster Website

FYI, if you are interested in registering for this site (which is optional), it is expected that you are a current member, or former member still interested in Slotcars and the club.

Now that the site is starting to get noticed on the web we are getting spammers or robots (or both) trying to register. The moderators may not recognize you from your email account. If you register with your full name that helps, but Hotmail accounts look a bit suspect.

So if you are using Hotmail and you don’t get your registration approved, come and see a committee member and make yourself known and we will fix it up. Meanwhile we’ll set up a Slotmasters email address so there is and alternate contact to verify who you are. Stay tuned for details. 😉

Tuesday Night Div1 Heat4 20/8/2013

As we know, last night’s final round of Modern Sports on the Brock Track was a “bit special” when it came to doing the points.

For some reason (I suspect the mouse) every time someone tried to update the points the entire lap count would be selected (highlighted) which meant the next keystroke would wipe the entire entry! As a consequence, along with other issues, the printout was incomplete and we had to fix it up manually using the full results. So some of you don’t know where you placed on the night. The latest full results are on the results page, here are the heat results, as should have been printed, minus Shane. Shane won of course, but is not actually registered in the comp.

Project “Skid Pan”

Project “Skid Pan”, a test track to verify tyres and running gear.

Need braid, paint and some DC Volts.IMG_0908

Credit where credit due, this project is inspired by this project.

IMG_0919

Grooves for braid! Bit nerve racking but worked ok.

IMG_0922

Power has to get in somewhere. Cut the keyhole for the braid. Plastic joiner is a useful insulator! 🙂

IMG_0923

Nearly there! Just enough braid with 40mm to spare!

IMG_0925

Just need to fill the join and paint. Had to give it a test “drive”! 🙂

IMG_0929

Painted, reversing switch and a compact power supply.

Thinks it’s done now! 😉

Race Results page

Looks like we have a format of Excel that imports nicely into a wordpress table.

Ray has done well combining all the results for Tuesday’s and Friday’s for all divisions on the night.

Come and see where your at in the various competitions! 🙂
